In response to the global COVID 19 pandemic, UNC Maternal-Fetal Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has developed guidelines for prenatal and postpartum care with the following objectives:
- Reduce patient risk of COVID exposure in the healthcare setting.
- Reduce the public health burden of COVID transmission throughout the general population.
- Reduce obstetric provider and staff exposure to COVID in the outpatient setting.
It is our desire to provide support for your practice and a model that reflects necessary changes during the COVID 19 pandemic. The guidelines are to be balanced with a patient’s individual needs and risk factors. They are also subject to change as the pandemic unfolds and we request that you refer back to www.mombaby.org on a regular basis.
Thank you for embracing the opportunity to support and share perinatal care during this critical and historical point in time. Together we will continue to provide quality services by the rapid expansion of telehealth and other resources while using our best stewardship for face to face care.
